Your audio never leaves your device.

When you add music to VaultedAudio, your browser opens the files directly from your device. Reading tags, editing them, cropping artwork and building the exported files all happen in the browser tab, using your device's own memory and processor.

Your audio is not uploaded. Neither are your artwork, lyrics, filenames or tags. There is no server-side processing, so there is nothing on our side to receive them.

VaultedAudio works from the files you picked without writing to them. When you export, you get new files with your changes in them. The originals stay exactly as they were, wherever they were.

There is no sign-up and no login, so there is no profile, email address or password for us to hold.

A few preferences, such as your chosen filename pattern and export options, are saved in your browser's own storage on your device so they are there next time.

So that a refresh or a closed tab doesn't cost you your work, the editor also keeps the library you have open, the files you added and the edits you made, in that same on-device storage. It stays in this browser on this device and is never sent to us or anyone else. Choosing Start over in the editor, or clearing this site's data in your browser, removes it.

VaultedAudio uses Google Analytics to count page views and a few general events, such as the fact that an export finished. Those events are built so that they cannot contain song titles, artists, albums, filenames, lyrics, artwork or any file contents. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data under Google's privacy policy; a content blocker or your browser's tracking protection stops it entirely, and the editor works the same either way.

Pages also carry Google AdSense, which may use cookies to show ads.

VaultedAudio is a tool for editing audio files you already have. It doesn't download, rip or source music from anywhere.
